Hello!

My name is Helena, and with my faithful sidekick Willow, the over-friendly Newfie x Lab, I decided to realise my dream of being a business owner and working with animals, by setting up a pet services business.

I have always loved animals, and have experienced owning many pets and different types of pets growing up. Including gerbils, hamsters, cats, rats and dogs. Currently I have one dog and 2 cats of my own.

I have several years experience in petsitting, mainly cats, and Willow has given me plenty of experience as a large dog owner. I have a degree in Animal Behaviour and Wildlife Conservation, and alongside working in the business I will be completing Ofqual accredited dog care and behaviour courses for my professional development.

Willow is a giant sassy pup. Her service involves being everyone's best friend! She will always be at hand to be a super fun walk and play mate on group walks and canine house guests.

We can't wait to meet all of you and your lovely pets!

How I can help you

I am offering group walks, solo walks, drop-in visits, daycare and boarding for dogs, cat sitting and sitting for other pets in your home and pet transport, 7 days a week.

I am always willing to provide a personalised pet experience where I can so don't hesitate to contact me if you have any specific requests.

Dog walks

Group walks

I operate one 1-hour group walk a day, between roughly 11.30am and 1pm, for a maximum of 6 dogs. Your dog will be picked up from the required address and safely transported in my vehicle to an appropriate site. Our usual walking spots include Blackford Hill, Hermitage of Braid, Craigmillar Castle Park and Mortonhall Estate. All new dogs are walked on leash for at least the first few walks and until I am confident that they are capable of listening well to me, after which they will have opportunity to trot and sniff around to their hearts content for some or all of the duration of the walk. I am happy and capable of working on behavioural training while on walks, for my own benefit of calm and controllable walks, but also if there's anything your dog could use help with, I can accommodate.

Solo walks and drop-in visits

I have a little bit of availability before 10.30am and after 3pm for solo walks and drop-in visits for puppies and adult dogs. They are not mutually exclusive though, so a drop-in visit can include a short walk. These would normally involve walking from your residence and around your local neighbourhood on leash.

Petsitting

I will be available to pay visits to one household per day to care for any pets within your home.

I can provide either a single 1-hour visit a day in the morning or late afternoon/evening; or two visits a day - a half hour visit in the morning and a 1-hour visit in the late afternoon/evening.

During a visit, I’ll attend to all your pet's necessities and spend time in the house to let them get used to me and let cats come for attention or some playtime if they want it. I love to give any cat the type of attention it requires. I can be patient with timid cats, I love to play with playful cats, and of course I’ll provide all the snuggles and pets a cuddly cat wants. Other types of pets will receive the care and attention they are comfortable with and used to per your instructions.

I'll always give regular updates and send some pictures so you can be confident that they’re being well cared for.

Pet transport

My trusty vehicle enables me to provide first class transport for your pets and I'm available to provide transport for specific occasions, as well as dog walks. Transport is included for all dog walk bookings. If your dog has any issues with riding in a vehicle, don't hesitate to still contact me to discuss a potential booking. I'm happy to try to make allowance in my schedule and planning for this, however I cannot guarantee any reduction in charges as it may require a good amount of planning expertise and time.

If you're lacking the time, or don't have the transport to attend appointments for your pet, such as grooming and vet care, I can step in for one way or return journeys. I will transport as many animals from the same household at once, including one adult person also to accompany the pet(s), if necessary. The price will depend on the journey distance and total time required.

The vehicle has more than ample space for dogs to ride comfortably and the windows provide plenty of ventilation. Safety is the main concern however, and all dogs will be secured with a dog seatbelt attached to an appropriate harness. If your dog does not already use a harness, I would highly recommend acquiring one as they're perfect for optimum safety all around, dog walking experiences and comfort for your dog.

Equipped with an RAC cat carrier as well, large enough for 2 cats at a time, I can safely transport cats. Cats will never be transported along with dogs to avoid stressful situations for any cats, unless they are part of the same household.
